{Marriage} Who’s the greatest?

Offered by Cindy Morrone

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23 & 24)

In a recent conversation with a very, dear soul sister a marriage ‘nugget’ was discovered. We talked about how we, ‘the wives’ expressed our faith differently from our husbands. In common, we wives tended to be more outspoken and demonstrative of our beliefs. We very often talked about the Trinity in our everyday. We point out relations exemplifying how our God works. We can be seen in the very early morning hours spending time with our dearest Friend and our loved ones know how precious this time is to us.

We discussed how our husbands worship differently. We noticed that they are maybe not as outspoken, maybe not as dramatic with bouts of tears whenever the Holy Spirit moves, and maybe not as vocal; with endless conversations about their faith.

Then she said something really important, something to the effect that….these differences however in no way indicated holiness. Our husbands love Jesus just like we do!

Keep talking to me sista’!

How many times have I assumed that my husband wasn’t as close with our Lord just because he didn’t talk and walk his faith like I do? How many times have I nagged and carried on about him spending dedicated time with the Lord and he has rebutted saying that he does, but just in a time and a way that works best for him…….. and I barely believed him.

Forgive me Lord…..

He has received the Holy Spirit just like I have (Ephesians 1: 13 & 14) and it is the Lord ,”..who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13). I am so grateful for this gentle reminder. And I am now more appreciative of our different ways in living out our faith.

Thank you sweet sister!

Dear Heavenly and Gracious Father,
Thank You Jesus for our marriages and thank You Lord for creating our husbands just the way You have. Forgive us Lord for any times we have interfered with Your workings in their journeys. We ask that You would show us how to encourage our husbands in their faith and relationship with You. We long to be better helpmates and ask that You; their Abba, Father would show us how. We love you so much Lord and we pray these things in Your Son’s precious name. Amen.
