{FAITH} It’s the only way to get on your feet.

By: Mandy Hill

So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet. (James 4:7-10)

My family and I visited a church this weekend as we concluded our summer vacation. The lead pastor spoke on ‘suiting up’ for the battlefield; living a life of righteousness, a life that will send the enemy scampering.

As we drove the long stretch of highway back home I recalled seasons in my life when times were tough. As I camped on some of those memories, I realized that although I’ve journeyed through some pretty stormy waters over the years; it’s the times when I stayed serious in my commitment to seek the Lord that truly made the tough times bearable.

I recalled the many instances where my children suffered physically through illnesses, surgery and the like and my heart ached at the many memories I’ve made sitting vigil by one of their hospital cribs/bed. And the more I thought about our journey through each of those times, the more God made me aware of the very reason I was able to come out on the other side standing up: I simply kept my eyes on Him.

The more I recalled these memories, the more my heart raced with an urgency to share with you sisters that no matter what you are facing in your life right now, The Lord is never far. He is desperately asking you to turn your attention off of the ugly of your situation and into the beauty of His glorious face. He wants you to seek Him with all of your might; with all of your heart.

Devote time each and every day to reading His word and seeking Him through prayer. I’m serious, sisters….you wouldn’t go your whole day through without eating or drinking, would you?! ….So don’t try to attempt to live another day without the living water and bread of life!

Even if you’re not in the middle of the battlefield at this moment, it’s still absolutely essential to commit daily time to seek Him. Seeking Him daily will increase your faith and prepare you for a time, perhaps in the days ahead, where you may otherwise be taken down; had you not been prepared for the fierce battle.

Have you been having a difficult time lately, scheduling time to meet with your Saviour?! How can you change that? Remember to ‘Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.’

Please let me pray for you.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for being a very personal God. For being a God that loves us no matter how many times we veer away from prioritizing our relationship with you. For loving us unconditionally. For blessing our hearts even when we are so undeserving. Jesus, I pray for my friends that are reading this post with a convicted heart, please help them to unashamedly turn their eyes back to You. Please shield their hearts from the ugly impossibilities of their situation and over to the beauty of Your face. Raise up an army of women ready for the battlefield, in us. I pray this in Your name, Jesus, amen.
