{Faith} Yes….or No?!

Written By: Mandy Hill

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. (Psalms 51:17)

Have you ever been at a crossroads; a place where a decision is truly necessary before a moving forward can take place? An intersection, where two very different paths require that a decision be made, and you desperately don’t want to choose the wrong one?

I have found myself in this place sooooo many times.

Sometimes the choice is as simple as a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’. ……and yet we labor over the choosing.

One of my favorite chapters of the bible is Psalms 51. I love to read David’s heart in this chapter as he cries out to God. I love how desperate he is for God; how he truly realizes the dire need for God’s Holy Spirit and Salvation in his life.

I was re-reading this chapter today and verse 17 really jumped off the page:
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. (Psalms 51:17)

Sometimes what we need to choose to do is just to kneel as a broken woman before God, and simply allow Him to use us as He will. He desires our humility and our brokenness, because it’s in those moments His wholeness can be perfected.

Not everything will allow for weeks of praying and seeking, some things require a quick response….and if you labor too long The Lord will find someone else to do the job.

His will WILL be done; the question is, will you be a part of it?

Heavenly Father, thank You so much for Your gentle guidance. Thank You for Your grace when we miss a chance to say ‘yes’ to You. Please help us when choosing what to say yes to, and what to turn down. We know we can not do it all, nor would we want to steal an opportunity from someone you have set apart for a calling. Please help us to be obedient; help us to know You so well that we can discern Your will for our lives with ease. I praise you for the amazing ways that You will use my sisters in the coming days. In Your name I pray, Amen.
